Is it permissible to cite a sound Hadith from a book of verified attribution whose author does not have a narration or an authorization (ijazah)?

If the hadith is authentic and its wording in the book is most likely sound, then a qualified student of knowledge is permitted to use it as evidence. It is not a condition for the one using it as evidence that he himself narrated the hadith. Indeed, the jurists have held that it is permissible to act upon a hadith if its copy is authentic, even if it was not heard directly. And whoever wishes to act upon a hadith from a book must take it from a reliable copy that he, or a trustworthy person, has collated with authentic originals, or with an authentic and verified original. Some scholars have mentioned that if an imitator (muqallid) finds an authentic hadith, he must search for a mujtahid (independent jurist) who adopted it, and then imitate him in acting upon it.
