Is it permissible for Muslims to fly kites, given that there is no religious origin for this act?

Playing with kites is permissible unless it involves something forbidden, provided the following conditions are met: that it does not distract from the remembrance of Allah or prayer, or interfere with duties; that it does not involve extravagance or wastefulness; and that it does not include forbidden gambling. It is also a condition for kites that they should not be in the form of living beings, unless the player is a child.
