Is what the questioner did correct, namely, performing ghusl on the eighth day after seeing dryness and slight discoloration, then performing ghusl on the eleventh day, following the Hanafi school, after the bleeding occurred and did not stop? And must the bleeding stop and then resume at a time that is not menstruation? And if the bleeding exceeds the menstrual period while continuing, is it permissible to adopt this fatwa? And is following the purity after urination correct or not?
The majority of scholars hold that the maximum duration of menstruation is fifteen days, whereas the Hanafis consider it ten days. The questioner is permitted to follow the Hanafi school of thought on this issue. Accordingly, any bleeding exceeding ten days is considered istihada (non-menstrual bleeding), and therefore, her ghusl (ritual bath) was correct. As for checking for purity, this should be done before sleeping at night and at prayer times. It is not necessary to check for purity after urination.
