The end of the menstrual cycle is recognized by one of two signs: complete dryness of the womb upon examination with a piece of cloth, or the discharge of a white fluid after the cessation of blood. As for discharge mixed with blood, it is considered menstruation. Brown discharge after purification, however, does not prevent prayer or fasting.
