Are the sins that Allah forgave in the stories of the woman who fed her two daughters, the man who removed a tree branch, and the harlot who gave water to a dog, the sins between them and Allah Almighty? And is it known why Allah forgave them specifically, even though their actions might seem minor or common? And did the harlot repent? And what should be said so that people do not become complacent about sins?
Allah accepts little from some of His servants and forgives their major sins because of the strength of their sincerity, and not every good deed erases every bad deed. For deeds vary in merit according to the varying degrees of faith and sincerity in the hearts, just as two men may pray in the same row, yet there is a difference between their prayers like that between the heavens and the earth.
