Is it permissible for two people to slaughter a cow or a calf as an Udhiyah on Eid al-Adha instead of two rams?

If the sacrificial animal is a cow, it is not permissible unless it has completed two years or more. Two people may share in it if the conditions are met. There is no difference between male and female, except that the male is superior. Jurists have differed regarding the preference between sheep/goats and sharing in a cow. The Malikis believe that sheep are superior, then goats, then cows, then camels. Whereas the Hanbalis and Shafi'is believe that camels are superior, then cows, then sheep, then goats, and that a single sheep is better than participating in one-seventh of a cow.
