What is the division of inheritance for a mother, a wife, a son, and two daughters, taking into account the deceased's will to divide the insurance money between his wife and his full brother, and the existence of expiations (kaffarat) due from him?

The first thing to be disbursed from a deceased person's estate is the settlement of their debts, which include expiations (kaffarat). Then, their bequests are to be fulfilled from one-third of the remaining estate. After that, the remainder is to be distributed among their heirs. The wife receives one-eighth, and the mother receives one-sixth due to the presence of a lineal descendant. The remaining portion is for the son and the two daughters, with the male receiving the share of two females. As for the will: it is executed if it is legally established and falls within the limit of one-third. It is not valid for an heir unless approved by the adult heirs. It is valid for a non-heir. Commercial insurance is impermissible, and the heirs only benefit from it to the extent of the premiums paid by the deceased, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And if you repent, you may have your principal—[thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged." It is advisable to refer matters of inheritance to the Sharia courts due to issues that may be obscure to the heirs.
