It is permissible to distribute the aqiqah meat in the child's country or in another country, as the matter is broad in this regard. Its owner may eat from it, give some as gifts, and donate some in charity. He may also gather relatives and friends for it, and he may distribute it after cooking or while it is raw. Scholars have differed on the best place to slaughter the aqiqah; some preferred the child's country, while others preferred the country of the one performing the aqiqah. The one performing the aqiqah must slaughter it himself or be present during the slaughter to feel the act of drawing closer to Allah through this ritual. It is permissible to send its meat and distribute it anywhere.
