Is it permissible to give an ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) on behalf of a deceased mother through organizations that dig wells and print copies of the Qur'an? And will the reward reach the mother even if the organization does not fulfill what was agreed upon?

Charitable organizations act as agents for the donor in delivering charity to those who deserve it. The charity is not complete by paying money to the organization unless the organization fulfills its delegated task. The continuous reward of ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) depends on its existence and preservation. If it is disrupted or ruined, its reward ceases. Nevertheless, the reward for the intention and effort in performing good deeds remains, even if it is not actualized. So, whoever entrusts an organization with an ongoing charity and the organization does not carry it out, that person will have the reward for their intention, effort, and expenditure.
