Should a girl who is 17.5 years old accept a marriage proposal, despite feeling that she is too young?

A girl should not turn away from marriage if she finds a suitable match. Hastening marriage is recommended in Islamic law and is naturally and socially desirable, as it provides protection from forbidden acts. It is not appropriate to delay it when its time has come, except for a valid and beneficial reason. If a girl does not agree to marriage, the man should seek another woman of good character and religious commitment, in compliance with the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "O young men, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty. And whoever is not able to do so, let him fast, for it will be a shield for him." One should avoid all causes that may lead to forbidden acts, such as being alone with a girl or looking at what is impermissible of her, as she is a stranger until the marriage contract is concluded.
