How is the inheritance of a man who died leaving a wife who bore no children, and three sons and three daughters from a previous wife, to be divided? And what is the share of each person? And do the children of the wife who bore no children from a previous husband inherit from this man's property in the event of her death before the inheritance is inventoried and settled?

If a man dies and leaves behind a wife, three sons, and three daughters, and no other heirs, then his wife receives one-eighth, according to the Almighty’s saying: "But if you have a child, then for them [the wives] is one eighth of what you leave." The remainder is divided among the sons and daughters, with the male receiving the share of two females, according to the Almighty’s saying: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females."

The inheritance is divided into 72 shares: the wife receives 9 shares, each son receives 14 shares, and each daughter receives 7 shares. If the wife dies before receiving her share, her heirs inherit her nine shares.

It is advisable to refer inheritance matters to Sharia courts, as there may be wills, debts, or other rights that take precedence over the heirs’ rights.
