Is it permissible for a young man to look at a girl's picture in a video in order to propose to her?

It is permissible for a suitor to look at his fiancée, so that the marriage may be based on clear sight. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Look at her, for it is more likely to create affection between you," and "If one of you proposes to a woman, and he is able to look at what would encourage him to marry her, then let him do so." Scholars have differed on what is permissible for the suitor to look at on the proposed woman. The most preferred opinion is that it is permissible to look at what is commonly apparent, such as the face, hands, head, neck, and feet. Therefore, if you are determined to propose and you predominantly expect her family's acceptance, there is no harm in looking at her image in a video, provided that your gaze is limited to her and not directed at others.
