The leaders of Quraysh gathered in Dar al-Nadwa to consult on the matter of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Iblis, in the guise of an old man, attended their meeting. After deliberations, they agreed on Abu Jahl's proposal that a young man be taken from each tribe, and they would strike the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with a single blow, so as to disperse his blood among the tribes. Allah Almighty informed His Prophet of this and commanded him not to sleep in his bed that night, but to emigrate to Medina.
