What is the ruling on disposing of profits realized from "HYIP" companies, and what is the ruling on trading in them for the purpose of using the money for permissible or prohibited ends? Is it permissible to invest in companies where the percentage varies from 0 to 6% and that trade on the stock market?
A Muslim must seek lawful earnings. If dealing with online companies whose true activities or compliance with Sharia regulations are unknown, then one must research and inquire to avoid falling into the unlawful and deception. As for HYIP companies, investing in them is permissible if the Sharia conditions mentioned in previous fatwas are met; otherwise, it is absolutely forbidden. It is not permissible to enter into them with the intention of collecting money for a charitable cause. Any past profits obtained from them must be spent on charitable endeavors.
