What is the ruling of the Sharia regarding a husband who takes from his wife's money by force, despite a prior agreement that her money is her own, and who does not spend on her on the pretext that she is employed, and what is the ruling on overlooking the right to maintenance?

A husband has no right to his wife's money, and it is forbidden for him to take anything from it without her willing consent. This is considered consuming people's wealth unlawfully, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not consume your properties among yourselves through falsehood," and concerning the dowry, He says: "And if you had given one of them a treasure [of gold], do not take anything from it. Would you take it in injustice and manifest sin?" And His saying: "And give women their dowries with good cheer. But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then consume it with satisfaction and ease." As for spending on the wife, it is obligatory for the husband, even if she is wealthy or employed.
