Must she make up the missed prayers after a light discharge of blood that she (the questioner) thought was menstruation, especially since the swelling that preceded the discharge of blood disappeared afterwards, and should she wait for the actual menstruation to begin?

The blood that returns after it has ceased is not considered a continuation of the previous menstruation if the total of the previous blood and the period of purity exceeds fifteen days. Also, the blood that descends is not considered a new menstruation unless it lasts for at least a day and a night (according to the majority of scholars) after fifteen days have passed since the cessation of the previous menstruation. If the blood does not last for a day and a night, it is irregular bleeding (dam fasad) and does not prevent prayer or fasting. Whoever stopped praying because of it must make up the missed prayers.
