Is it permissible to seize personal data of homosexuals under the pretext of teaching them a lesson and limiting the spread of the phenomenon, or is advising them better than deceiving them and stealing their data, bearing in mind that the questioner is religiously committed and fears falling into the forbidden?

We advise inviting those who engage in homosexuality to guidance with sincerity for Allah, using legitimate means, and teaching them lessons that clarify the impermissibility of their actions and warn them of the consequences of sins. Indeed, deterring the disobedient with the texts of revelation is the most successful remedy. As for laughing at them, it is not a means for their repentance. Time should be utilized in inviting them and supplicating for them, and one should stay away from corrupt websites and their users, and occupy one's time with learning and teaching Islamic knowledge and inviting others to righteousness.
