Is it true that "whoever dies with some honey in their body will not be touched by the Fire"?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The aforementioned Hadith with this exact wording has not been found. However, there is a similar Hadith with the wording: "You must use honey, for by the One in Whose hand is my soul, there is no house in which there is honey except that the angels of that house seek forgiveness for it. If a man drinks it, a thousand remedies enter his body, and a thousand diseases depart from it. If he dies while it is in his body, the Fire will not touch his skin." The scholars have judged this Hadith to be munkar (denounced), indeed mawdu' (fabricated). Al-Fattani, Al-Kinani, and Al-Shawkani mentioned that it is extremely munkar. Ibn al-Jawzi said: It is mawdu' (fabricated), and the majority of its narrators are unknown.
