How is the Zakat calculated on a sum of money inherited from your father after it multiplied several times in ten-year investment certificates, knowing that the imams differ on the Zakat of debt?

The Islamic Network had previously issued fatwa no. 32744, which clarified that the profits from investment certificates are outright riba (usury). Therefore, these profits are not permissible for the heirs, and they must be disposed of by spending them on charitable causes. The heirs are only entitled to the principal amount. As for the zakat on the inheritance, it must be ascertained before its distribution whether any rights are attached to it, such as zakat, debt, or a bequest, etc. If such rights exist, they must be fulfilled. After that, the heirs divide the wealth. If each heir's share reaches the nisab (minimum threshold) and a hawl (full lunar year) has passed since the father's death, zakat becomes obligatory on it for all the past years.
