How can a man return what he wrongfully took of goods and stationery from his previous workplace, when he remembers some of it and forgets some of it, and his financial situation is simple, and his salary barely covers his household expenses, but he fears God and wants to return what he took?

The man must return what he unlawfully took from the company, or seek forgiveness from the company owners. If they forgive him, then he owes nothing. If they do not forgive him, he must return what he took if it is still extant, or return its equivalent or its value if it is damaged or lost. If he does not know the exact amount he took, he must strive to investigate and return what he believes to be the rightful amount or more, as Ibn al-Arabi stated. If he is in hardship, this money is a debt upon him that he must repay whenever he is able.
