The husband must treat his wife well. Among her rights upon him is for him to satisfy her intimately, which is one of her most emphasized rights upon him. It is not permissible for him to abandon sexual intercourse with her for a period that causes her harm. If the husband does not respond to advice, the wife can refer the matter to the Sharia judge to compel him to fulfill this right or to separate them. If the wife chooses to endure for the sake of the children, she is permitted to do so. However, if she fears for her religion and honor, she should seek separation.
