Is the obligatory justice between wives only in regard to spending the night, or does it also include the daytime, even if there are circumstances such as the presence of children in the house of one of the wives?

Justice between wives is obligatory as much as possible. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever has two wives and inclines to one more than the other, will come on the Day of Resurrection with one of his sides fallen." A man must limit himself to one wife if he fears not being able to deal justly when marrying more than one. The day is a continuation of the night spent with the wife, and one should not go to the other wife on the day of her co-wife unless there is a need or necessity.
