Does writing the Quran in English, then reciting it in Arabic and acting upon its precepts, equal reading it in Arabic from the Mushaf in reward, or is it considered a Bid'ah (innovation)?

It is not permissible to write the Holy Quran in anything other than the Uthmani script or in any language other than Arabic, because the Quran was revealed in a clear Arabic tongue, and it has been written in Arabic letters since its revelation up to this day. Permitting its writing in other languages opens the door to distortion and alteration of its wording and meaning, and discourages Muslims from learning the Arabic language. As for one who is unable to write it in Arabic, or wishes to cite it in non-Arabic books, he may write an interpretive translation of what he intends, but not write it for recitation and worship.
