What is the ruling on proceeding with registration in the social housing program, which includes a late payment penalty, based on the father's insistence, after coming to know that this condition renders it a prohibited usurious transaction?

It is not permissible to stipulate a penalty for late payment of installments in an installment sale, because it involves agreeing to a usurious contract. It is not permissible to enter into a contract that includes a late payment penalty clause, even if one intends to pay on time. If a person believes something is forbidden, they are not allowed to obey their parents in doing it. We advise trying to convince the other party, and if they do not respond, do not obey them. Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever pleases people by displeasing Allah, Allah will entrust him to people. And whoever displeases people by pleasing Allah, Allah will suffice him against the burden of people."
