1. Intentionally swallowing saliva does not invalidate the fast.

2. Swallowing mucus unintentionally does not invalidate the fast. As for swallowing it intentionally, there is a difference of opinion. It is permissible to follow the view of those who do not consider it to invalidate the fast. Doubt about it does not invalidate the fast.

3. Fasting is not obligatory until the signs of puberty are confirmed.

4. It is not obligatory to make up missed Ramadan fasts consecutively, unless the make-up cannot be completed before the next Ramadan.

5. No expiatory feeding (fidyah) is required from someone who delayed making up missed Ramadan fasts due to ignorance or forgetfulness.
