Is a triple divorce effected by the words, "I will send her to her father's house," and is expiation (kaffarah) binding upon me if I take her to her father's house and then bring her back home a short while later?

We understand that you swore an oath to your wife, by triple divorce, that you would send her to her father, and you did so. If you did not intend her divorce or her remaining for a specific period, then the oath is dissolved as soon as she reaches her father's house. If you intended her to remain for a specific period, then the oath is dissolved upon the expiry of that period. If our understanding is incorrect, please clarify further. We also point out that the divorce pronounced by someone in extreme anger who does not know what he is saying does not take effect.
