What is the ruling on following the methodology of a Sufi shaykh whose followers claim he is infallible, and that he possesses inherited knowledge with an authentic chain of transmission from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?

Contemporary Sufi orders contain innovations, deviations, and polytheistic practices, among which is their claim of infallibility for their shaykhs, which contradicts the consensus of Muslims that infallibility is reserved solely for prophets. Even the most pious, like Umar ibn al-Khattab, are not infallible, and their inspirations must be presented to the Qur'an and Sunnah, for there is no infallible person in the Ummah except the Prophet, peace be upon him.

After the death of the Prophet, peace be upon him, his connection with this world ceased, and whoever claims to have a connection with him or to receive knowledge from him has fabricated a lie. Some of these visions are satanic states that occur to those who deviate from the Qur'an and Sunnah.
