Is a pure intention sufficient for forgiving a sister and ending the estrangement between them, if the قطع (severance/estrangement) has continued for years, or what action is required if the intention is not sufficient, given the difficulty of speaking with her?

Abandonment and estrangement between Muslims are not permissible. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade mutual hatred, envy, and cutting ties. He made abandonment for more than three nights impermissible, and the better of two disputing parties is the one who initiates the greeting of peace. Sins are forgiven on Mondays and Thursdays except for those who are estranged until they reconcile. The questioners must seek forgiveness, repent, and reconcile with each other. If the sister insists on abandoning, do not abandon her in return, but be patient with her harm and seek reward from Allah, for the one who maintains ties is not the one who reciprocates, but rather the one who maintains ties with him who cuts them off. A mere good intention is not sufficient; rather, initiate peace and kindness, and do not bear malice, for indeed, good deeds repel evil ones.
