Is a teacher's abbreviation of academic material for all of his students, with the aim of making things easier for them, considered cheating?

There is no harm in abbreviating academic curricula or providing summaries to students, so long as this does not compromise a significant portion of the course objectives and is not exclusively relied upon in examinations. Otherwise, it would be considered a betrayal.
