Are reading Surat Al-Ikhlas and the Two Mu'awwidhat (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas) three times in the morning and in the evening sufficient to provide protection from everything, and do they substitute for other adhkar (remembrances of Allah), or must other adhkar be recited? What are the preferred or sound adhkar with strong chains of narration from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him? And is it permissible to recite adhkar while performing household chores?

The meaning of "it suffices you" in the context of dhikr (remembrance of God) is that it repels all evil from you or makes you self-sufficient from needing other things. This does not mean, however, that it makes you sufficient from other forms of dhikr. Some forms of dhikr are a protection from harm, while others are a cause for entering Paradise or have a great reward. The servant needs to fully ponder the meanings of dhikr to attain the complete reward. It is permissible to recite dhikr during household chores, but the reward is more complete with contemplation and by emptying the heart of distractions.
