How can clothes and the house be purified from the droppings of a small mouse that cannot be caught, knowing that it is spreading everywhere?
Animal excreta, whether urine or feces, are of two types: pure (tahir) and impure (najis). The pure type is that which comes from animals whose meat is permissible to eat, such as camels, cattle, and sheep. This is supported by the hadith in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded the drinking of camel urine and milk. The impure type is the urine and feces of animals whose meat is not permissible to eat, such as predators, cats, and mice. Therefore, mouse urine is impure, and it is obligatory for the worshipper to remove this impurity from his body, clothes, and place of prayer, due to Allah's saying: "And purify your garments" (Quran 74:4), and due to what Ahmad and Abu Dawud narrated, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, removed impurity from his sandals.
