What is the ruling on following a شيخ (Shaykh) of the Shadhiliyya order and attending the حضرات (hadarat) he holds for the remembrance of Allah?

It is not permissible to associate with heretical and Sufi orders, nor to follow their shaykhs, nor to attend their gatherings which include polytheism, and unlawful litanies and invocations. The Muslim must learn the Sunnah and act upon it, and beware of innovation in religion.
