Is it forbidden to post pictures showing crimes committed against Muslims in forums, despite knowing that pictures are forbidden?

We have previously explained the ruling on photography and the scholarly differences regarding it, and that many contemporary scholars have issued a general permissibility for it as long as it does not involve anything unlawful. As for publishing images of massacres and tragedies befalling Muslims, it is an obligation upon the media and anyone able to disseminate them, in order to inform those with living consciences to fulfill their duty of support and assistance.
