What should I do about my fear and despair of being laid off, knowing that I am dedicated to my work?

Ease your mind and do not despair. Have a good opinion of Allah, for what has befallen you was written and predestined before your creation. Therefore, do not grieve over what you have missed, nor rejoice boastfully over what has come to you, for sustenance is decreed, and no soul will die until it has received its full share. Relying on Allah with true reliance brings sustenance. This means not depending solely on means, but rather on the Causer of all means, while still utilizing them. So, if one path of sustenance closes, Allah will open another, better one for you.
