Is it permissible to use work time for studying during periods of free time?

It is commendable for a person to utilize their free time for work, and the wise Sharia has encouraged this. For example, a student of knowledge can utilize their time in studying to increase their knowledge. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Seize five things before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death." A person working for others is not prevented from benefiting from their free time, as long as it does not interfere with their work.
