Is there sin in forgetting verses or hesitating while reciting short surahs that one has recently begun memorizing during prayer, knowing that the person performs the two prostrations of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) when forgetting or making a mistake in recitation?

A Muslim is rewarded for learning and memorizing the Quran. Scholars have made memorizing Al-Fatiha obligatory for the validity of prayer. As for anything beyond Al-Fatiha, it is not obligatory according to the majority of scholars. However, it is more cautious to memorize whatever is easy from the Quran in addition to Al-Fatiha. Unintentional mistakes in recitation carry no sin, and prostration is not legislated for them if they occur outside of Al-Fatiha.
