What is the ruling on excommunicating people who pronounce the Two Testimonies of Faith but commit acts of disbelief while being unaware that such acts are impermissible?

The topic of takfir (declaring someone an apostate) and its regulations is one of the most serious matters discussed by preachers and students of knowledge. Therefore, one must be cautious against leniency and haste in it. Students of knowledge and preachers must educate communities on matters of creed to avoid actions that lead to kufr (disbelief), and to be aware of the danger of declaring Muslims as disbelievers without decisive proof and evidence. Individuals within the Ummah (Muslim nation) should strive for deep understanding in these matters and frequently recite the supplication: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating partners with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know."
