Is it permissible to play sports with girls when compelled to do so?

Mixed-gender sports with non-mahram women are among the most severe abominations, because Allah has blocked all paths leading to the temptation of men by women. Allah has commanded women not to be soft in speech and to stay in their homes, and not to display their adornments. He has also commanded believing men and women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts.

If the questioner is forced into this prohibited act under a religiously valid duress, then there is no sin upon him, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "Indeed, Allah has overlooked for my Ummah mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do." Valid duress is a threat to life or limb, or something that is unbearable for the soul to endure.
