Is a Muslim rewarded for all the rewards associated with the dhikr (remembrance of Allah) if he intends thereby obedience to Allah, or is it necessary to bring to mind each reward separately, knowing that righteous deeds must be done with sincerity and in accordance with the guidance of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?

A servant receives the reward for an act of worship by fulfilling two conditions:

1. Following the Sunnah: The worship must be performed in the manner prescribed by the Sharia, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not of it, will have it rejected." 2. Intention: This includes the intention to specify the act of worship and the intention of sincerity, meaning one performs the worship seeking the countenance of Allah the Almighty, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Indeed, actions are by intentions, and indeed every person will have what he intended."

It is not a condition to bring to mind the intention of realizing the specific reward for that act of worship, as there is no evidence for this. Moreover, recalling the details of rewards might cause hardship, and the specific rewards fall under the general intention of sufficient reward. Thus, whoever perfects their worship is promised its reward, even if they are unaware of it or do not bring it to mind.
