Is it permissible to perform ablution (Wudu') while there is a treatment on the nails that sticks to them for a week and does not come off with water?

Purity from major and minor ritual impurity necessitates the spreading of water over the limbs and the removal of anything that prevents its access, such as nail polish. If something that prevents water from reaching [the skin] is left, even if it is minor, the purification is not valid.

However, in cases of necessity due to illness or similar reasons, it is permissible to apply the polish and wipe over it during ablution (wudu') and ritual bathing (ghusl), and its ruling becomes that of a splint (jabeerah). Care should be taken to apply this polish while in a state of purity, and if it is possible to postpone its use until the menstruation period, that becomes obligatory.
