Is it permissible to stop the boat to perform prayer despite a prohibition from the workplace?

Prayer performed on a boat is valid, whether it is stationary or moving, provided one faces the Qibla. If the face turns away from the Qibla due to wind, one must reorient towards it and continue the prayer. Obligatory prayers are valid on a stationary ship and a boat tied to the shore, by consensus of jurists, if one faces the Qibla and fulfills all the pillars (arkan). Imam Al-Nawawi holds the view that prayer performed on a moving boat is valid, just as it is on a ship.
