What is the ruling on the fasting and prayer of one who made errors in the ghusl from janabah?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Ghusl (ritual bath) after janabah (state of ritual impurity following sexual activity) or menstruation is not a condition for the validity of fasting. However, it is a condition for the validity of prayer for whoever finds water and is able to use it. Thus, fasting is valid without ghusl or with an invalid ghusl. As for prayer, it is invalid and must be repeated. For ghusl to be valid, it is sufficient to cover the entire body with water along with the intention of removing the ritual impurity.
