ما هو الرد على زعم بعض الأشاعرة بأن كتاب "الإبانة" لم يؤلفه أبو الحسن الأشعري؟

The book "Al-Ibanah 'an Usul ad-Diyanah" by Abul-Hasan al-Ash'ari is one of his last works. In it, he affirmed the attributive qualities (sifat khabariyyah) such as "the Face" (al-wajh) and "the two Hands" (al-yadain), and the volitional acts (af'al ikhtiyariyyah) such as "ascending" (al-istiwa') and "descending" (an-nuzul), according to their literal meanings without interpretation (ta'wil).

What is stated in the book contradicts the madhhab of the later Ash'aris, who denied these attributes and acts or interpreted them. This led some of them to question the book's attribution to him.

However, there is extensive evidence confirming the book's authentic attribution to al-Ash'ari, including the existence of multiple manuscripts of the book and testimonies from great scholars such as Al-Bayhaqi and Ibn 'Asakir, who quoted passages from "Al-Ibanah" and praised it.
