The best way to get rid of obsessive thoughts is to be convinced that clinging to them is following Satan. Turning away from them completely is sufficient, for they will disappear after a short while. Whoever gives ear to them, they will lead him to the realm of the insane. And whoever is afflicted by them, let him seek refuge in Allah and desist.
