One must ignore obsessive thoughts (waswas) and not pay attention to them. Yellowish or brownish discharge connected to blood during the possible period [of menstruation] is considered menstruation. If a woman sees purity, even for a short time, she must perform ghusl (ritual bath) and pray, and she should not pay attention to any yellowish or brownish discharge she sees after that. However, if it is continuous and she does not see purity, then the duration of the blood is menstruation. After it stops, she performs ghusl, and her ruling is that of a woman with irregular bleeding (istihadha) for the rest of the month; she performs ablution for every prayer after its time has begun.
