What is the ruling regarding water splashing onto the body during istinja' (washing after defecating or urinating), and is it obligatory to wash the part that the splashing water touched?

Splashed water is pure unless it separates from an impurity. If you doubt its status, the default is purity. You are not required to purify your body from it unless you are certain that it has been affected by a transformed impurity.
