Does praying at home equal praying in congregation if the mosque is far from home?

Being far from the mosque such that the call to prayer is not heard is an excuse for not attending congregational prayer. The person with this excuse should pray in congregation with those who are with him in his place. If that is not possible, he should pray alone, and there is no sin upon him.
