Does the reward mentioned in the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah — "The angels supplicate for one of you as long as he remains in his prayer-place where he prayed, as long as he does not الحدث (pass wind) or leave. (They say): 'O Allah, forgive him! O Allah, have mercy on him!'" — cease if the worshipper moves from his prayer-place to another spot in the mosque to complete his post-prayer remembrances?

Departing from the prayer spot immediately after the salām to move to another location in the mosque for performing the remembrance (dhikr) is permissible, not obligatory. The relevant hadith indicates that the intended meaning of "his prayer place" (muṣallāh) is the mosque in general, not just the specific spot where one prayed.

Furthermore, what was reported from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would not sit except for the duration of saying: "O Allah, You are As-Salām (the Giver of peace), and from You is As-Salām; blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honor," does not imply continuity. Rather, this occurred sometimes, and it has been authentically established that he would sit for longer than that.

Moreover, the permissibility of dhikr after prayer does not necessitate remaining in the same spot; dhikr can be performed in any other location. However, some hadiths have qualified the remembrance by stating it should be "while he is still seated with his legs folded" and "before he departs."
