Is wearing the niqab obligatory for women, taking into consideration that it may cause problems for a working woman, such as a doctor?

There is a disagreement among scholars regarding covering the face, and the preponderant opinion is that it is obligatory to cover it. Covering is safer and better to absolve oneself of responsibility. It is sufficient for the common person to consult a scholar whom they trust and act upon their fatwa, for Allah Almighty says: "So ask the people of the message if you do not know." If covering the face at work harms a woman, there is no blame upon her for uncovering it, because necessities permit the prohibited, while being keen to cover it in the presence of non-mahram men outside of work hours.
