Whoever takes another's money unjustly must repent and return the money to its owner, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The hand is responsible for what it has taken until it returns it." It is not permissible to give its value in charity except when returning it is impossible. In this case, the money can be returned by asking his former agent for his address and sending the amount to him.
